What cover do you get?

You can choose funeral cover up to N$30,000.

There’s an immediate accidental death benefit which covers you straight away, upon receipt of your first premium.

You’ll have no problem being accepted – we guarantee acceptance to Namibian citizens or legal permanent residents between 18 and 65 years old.

You won’t need a medical examination.

We pay out all valid funeral claims within 48 hours of receiving all the required claim documentation.
Family Funeral Benefit

The Family Funeral Benefit provides a payment, the sum insured specified in the policy schedule, in the event of death of the main insured person, partner, or children, during the period of insurance.

This benefit provides cover for a maximum of

5 children.

Accidental Death Benefit

If a policyholder or his/her partner dies as a result of an accident, an additional amount equal to the cover selected is payable. No waiting periods apply to the Accidental Death Benefit.

Children will only receive the funeral benefit amount in the event of their accidental death. No additional benefit amount will be paid.
Parents Funeral Benefit – Rider Benefit

This benefit provides cover for a maximum of

How to Claim
How to claim:

Phone us to get a claim form.

When there is a claim you, your beneficiary or executor must phone us to get a claim form (061 422 602). Alternatively, claim forms will be available at any AVBOB Namibia funeral home.

We will tell you, your beneficiary or your executor what other documents we need. You, your beneficiary or your executor must then tell us how much of the benefit amount to pay to AVBOB Namibia to help pay for the funeral, or alternatively, how much to pay to you, your beneficiary or your estate.

Complete the claim form and attach the other documents we need.

Fill in the claim form and sign it. To make sure we can pay the claim as quickly as possible, please read the claim form carefully for any extra requirements.

Send us the claim.

You, your beneficiary or executor must send us the claim form with all the other documents we ask for.

You can contact us to obtain the telephone number for nearest AVBOB funeral home in your area. -
We will carefully review the documents for the claim, and will tell you, your beneficiary or executor if there are any problems. We will only accept original documents. You, your beneficiary or executor can fax the documents so that the claims department can start processing the claim, but remember that we must receive the original documents before we will pay a claim.

If we ask for a certified copy of a document, it means you; your beneficiary or executor must make a photocopy of the document and take it with the original document to a lawyer, accountant, bank manager or police station. Ask for a person known as a Commissioner of Oaths to stamp the copy to say it is a true copy of the original.

We have the right to see all documents relating to the policy. We will tell you, your beneficiary or your executor if there are any problems with the documents.
